# Sewall Wright Sewall Wright (1889–1988) was an American geneticist who, together with R. A. Fisher and J. B. S. Haldane, founded the field of population genetics. He introduced concepts including genetic drift and the adaptive landscape, the widely used metaphor for how populations move across a surface of fitness values under selection and chance. ## Microsim — queued
Microsim/diagram layer in the draft queue. Troy is building the interactive station for this concept by hand; the sourced overview below is complete and citable now.
## Overview In 1918 Wright introduced path analysis, a method for tracing correlation through a system of directed paths between variables — a graphical, boxes-and-arrows technique that anticipated the directed-acyclic-graph machinery now standard in a probabilistic causal model. That makes Wright, working decades before the causal loop diagram or modern causal inference existed, one of the earliest people to formalize the drawing of cause as a graph. **On the spine:** Path_analysis_(statistics) · Causal_model · Causal_loop_diagram. ## Wikipedia : Wikitube **Strict pair:** [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sewall_Wright) : [Wikitube](https://en.wikitube.io/wiki/Sewall_Wright) ## Previous hub tags Hubs: `Systems`.
